Brad Smith, Director of Bands
Brad Smith is beginning his 13th year as a band director.
He plays the Euphonium primarily, but he also spends a lot of time playing
trombone, trumpet and French Horn with his students in class. His bands have earned consistent
high honors and grow in number every year.
Mr. Smith is married to Misty ( a band director and
clarinet player) and has two children who both plan on
being musicians as well. Mr. Smith's main responsibilities are the Symphonic Band and the beginner brass classes.

Candace Sanders, Assistant Director of Bands
Ms. Sanders is beginning her 3rd year teaching. She recently graduated from SMU with a degree in Music Education and Oboe Performance. Ms. Sanders enjoys playing her oboe and tries to find as much time as possible to still perform. Her main responsibilities will be the Concert Band and the beginning woodwind classes. Ms. Sanders is very excited to begin teaching at Wester.
