Welcome Letter to All in coming 5th

Dear Future Wester Student,
We are so excited about the opportunity to teach you at
Wester next year. In preparation for next year, you
need to start planning on which elective you are going to
choose. Keep in mind the benefits you receive from the
electives as you make your choice.
In choosing band, you are choosing the most visible and
exciting Fine Arts group on the campus. Band is a
class where you will learn to play a musical instrument and
perform at a very high level, very early on. It is a
very fun class that is TOTALLY DIFFERENT than any class you
have taken before.
But wait! You are worried that you don't know anything
about music. THAT IS FINE. We expect that you
know nothing about music when you come in. All we want
you to do is open your mind, open your ears, and let us
teach you about music. It is EASY.
But wait! You don't know how to play a musical
instrument. That's OK also. 99% of the kids who
join band have never played an instrument.
There are concerts, contests, recitals, parties, dances,
football games, pep rally's and other great fun activities
that will make your middle school experience complete.
Now remember, band is a fun class that will help you grow as
a person, it is a place to make many new friends, and it is
where happy people hang out.
This is what Wester Middle School Band Students look like.

This is the face of someone who didn't choose band. Do
you see the regret?

Remember to choose band as your
1st elective choice
and mark your calendar for our Wester Middle School Beginner
Drive. February 4th or February 9th, 2010.
If you have questions or would like to set up a time to meet
with the band directors, feel free to call or email
